TOPIC: When & Why Entrepreneurs Need Legal Advice - Tips For Your Business

Digital marketing is the future, but have you ever considered whether your website complies with legal standards and regulations?

Why is it important to have tailored terms and conditions for your website?

What is the POPI Act and are you complying with it in your business?

What is the structure of your business and have you set up your business correctly – why commercial contracts are so important in your business.

And this is exactly why you need a lawyer…

In this talk Annerine will discuss the importance of setting your business up correctly, and provide some tips from a legal point of view.

Annerine du Plessis practices as an Associate at De Wet Harvey Attorneys in Edgemead Cape Town. She was born in September 1983 in the beautiful town of Ceres. The “lethal” combination of being a typical Virgo and born from the Y-Generation is probably the motivation why Annerine strives to change the general public perception of lawyers. Annerine’s love for law was strongly influenced by the fact that she grew up in a house where her father served the Department of Justice as a Magistrate for nearly 4 decades. It therefore came as no surprise that Annerine studied law after she matriculated in 2002 and thereafter graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in December 2007 with a LLB degree.

In 2008 and 2009 Annerine completed her articles of clerkship at A S Hurter Attorneys in Cape Town and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court on her late father’s 60th birthday on 5 February 2010. Annerine specializes in a variety of litigation matters and liquor licence applications. When engaging in conversation with Annerine one will soon learn that she is a firm believer in mediation and always chooses the peaceful and amicable options to obtain the best results for her clients. She is often described as the friendliest and most animated attorney clients have ever come across and Annerine confesses that her optimistic and approachable personality comes in handy in an adversarial environment, especially when faced with pugnacious opponents. This petite fire-cracker attorney is married to Pieterjan and they live on a breath-taking stretch of land on Route 44 near Klapmuts with their beautiful two-year old daughter, Leja. www.dwhlaw.co.za
