Cape Town Holistic Event: 20 May

20 May 2017 XWHNCT

THIS IS A MIXED NETWORK. ALL WELCOME.

TOPIC: Living Your Passion to Live Your Best Life

"Am I living my best life?”
“Is this what I am meant to be doing?”
“Why is my relationship suffering?”
“Why do I feel unhappy?"

The answers to all those questions and may others, are within us. We may say that we do introspect, but we are still feeling negative about life.

Many people go through life working, trudging along, finding a comfort zone, yet not living their best life as they have not found what makes them passionate. It is only when we find our passion and start living our truth that we create a magnificent life in all aspects.

The Almighty does not create ordinary people. We are all Extraordinary in various ways and it is only when we tap into the deepest recesses of our heart and discover that which we are mean to be that we fill our life with an abundance of all that is great.

There may still be challenges, trials and tribulations as you continue your journey in life, but if you come from a place of happiness, then you can still live your best life and often find the solutions that much easier. We need to truly believe that we are meant to be on this earth for a reason.

Find your PURPOSE!

We bring all the past, and the way we think and feel into the present, into our life daily. So, if you're facing issues at work or in your relationships; the one affects the other and vice versa. Happiness is a state of mind and we can only truly be happy if we come to terms with who we are and accept ourselves for whom we truly are. Don't hide behind a facade and try to live up to people's expectations.

It's never too late to change. The choice is ours... choose wisely.

ABOUT OUR GUEST SPEAKER:
Mehboob Bawa, The Love Doctor. Mehboob is an actor, voice artiste, writer, producer and inspirational speaker.

A seasoned professional in all aspects of media including radio and television broadcasting, film and journalism. I have worked both in the business and creative arenas and have more than 28 years’ experience in the industry.

I have extensive experience in the running of a radio station having been charged with developing and implementing department budgets, managing and training staff including technicians and on air presenters, sourcing on air talent, overseeing studio operations and providing input on staff conflict resolutions.

I also have extensive on air experience and have created a successful brand – The Love Doctor.

I’ve worked on community radio and for commercial stations; P4 (now Heart 104.9FM), KFM and Smile 90.4FM, presenting the popular Love Songs shows.

I am a partner in a film company that oversees film shoots for foreign companies in South Africa. Here too I am entrusted with working within the client’s budget to ensure that their production in the country is cost effective. I liaise with the foreign client, local government stakeholders, service providers, talent and crew to develop the local shooting budget and then oversee the entire production process handling all logistics with my team to ensure a successful shoot.

I have consulted successfully with clients on their brand building, marketing and advertising requirements for both radio and print mediums. Here, I create a campaign within a set budget from concept through production and implementation, liaising always with the client, production houses as well as radio and newspaper entities. www.mehboobbawa.com

Vanessa Lynch Xtraordinary Woman of the MonthVanessa Lynch - Executive Director of The DNA Project & Deputy Chair of National Forensic DNA Oversight & Ethics Board

Having graduated from Law School at UCT in 1993 I pursued a legal career for the following ten years. In 2004, after the brutal murder of my father, I founded the NGO “The DNA Project” in an effort to alleviate crime in South Africa through the use of a National Forensic DNA Database. It thus became my mission to help establish infrastructures and laws in South Africa which would ensure that forensic DNA technology was used to its best advantage. To that end I have assisted with the drafting of the new DNA Act and have been commended for the contribution I have made to law reform in this regard. I have driven the development of a specific career path in Forensic DNA both in science and law and was appointed by the Minister of Police as the Deputy Chair of the National Forensic Oversight and Ethics Board in January 2015, a position which I currently still hold.
