Coastal Networking Event: 12 June

12 June 2018 XWCN

THIS IS A MIXED NETWORK - ALL WELCOME!

TOPIC: Marketing in Changing Times

There is a Chinese Proverb – ways change with the territory.

This is really a principal that entrepreneurs can and should embrace as a way forward in marketing their businesses. Recent surveys indicate that the challenge for future South African market is adaption – adaption to the needs of the evolving customer segments and to the constant rising digital demands on your very traditional customer base. Up-until a few years ago it was very easy to market to the South African market – you had the very lower income – and they were stereo-typed into a certain recorded buying behaviour pattern.

The beliefs around this were nothing short of a mass market approach. It is my belief that with the digital expansion becoming so dominant in South Africa – there’s the same ‘mass market’ approach – especially for entrepreneurs who are cash strapped and penny wise and pound foolish.

In this talk we’ll talk about:
1. How to reach your market digitally.
2. How to engage with them on a personal basis.
3. How to have a sustainable relationship with those already engaged.
4. Digital vs traditional marketing – and when to do what?
5. How to measure what’s working and what isn’t.

ABOUT OUR GUEST SPEAKER:
Robyn Lambrick from Word-on-the-Street Media. Robyn spent 23 years working on large retail accounts like Shoprite, Checkers and Aroma Liquor Stores and after a 5-year stint as the General Manager of one of the largest advertising agencies in Cape Town –BBDO – she decided to put all her years of experience into her passion...PEOPLE – their habits, rituals, how they shop and what media they consume. Word-on-the-Street Media is a single point access to multimedia channel advertising agency. In other words, we’re happy to apply ourselves to whatever it takes to grow our client’s business. Robyn uses her blue-chip experience to make a difference in the lives of Entrepreneurs and Small to medium businesses. She uses her philosophy of walking a mile in your customer’s shoes to get to the very essence of your business, your product service and the human truth behind your customer’s needs and wants, their rituals and habits. At Word on the Street Media, we eat, dream, sleep and drink our client’s businesses – for to do it any other way is an injustice to YOU and your CUSTOMER.
