Southern Suburbs Networking Event: 19 June

19 June 2018 XWSS

THIS IS A MIXED NETWORK - ALL WELCOME!

TOPIC: Pain’s Purpose: The Bridge to Authentic Power

Our power lies in the construction of our perspectives in any given moment. Anything lasts for only as long as our thoughts and feelings about it remain the same. We are not always the cause of our experiences, we do not choose all experiences, but we have the power to choose our responses to them.

Our experiences do not define us, our responses to them do! When we choose to re-interpret our hurtful, fearful or limited past experiences through lenses of power and not pity or pain, we re-define our experiences and disempower victimhood and self-sabotage.

ABOUT OUR GUEST SPEAKER:
While Lynn’s academic background are two post graduate qualifications in Education and Clinical Psychology, it’s the sharing of her Personal Journey that authenticates her experiences with her audiences to levels of profound, instantaneous impact. She has triumphed over severe odds: The Group Areas Act; a brutal rape at fifteen; school boycotts; a teenage pregnancy; completing all of her studies full-time and part-time while concurrently mothering two young children; a divorce; single motherhood and amore than unfair business world lacking in integrity! Lynn currently inspires 7 million South Africans daily through her Inspirational column found in all national newspapers, has been invited to the US and Canada as a speaker and will be launching her first book internationally and nationally in the second half of the year! She has also just taken up Directorship with a networking and empowerment organization, called Woman of Stature.

Pontsho ManziPontsho Manzi - CEO: Fabulous Woman

Pontsho is is the founding editor and publisher of Fabulous Woman magazine and author of arguably the first South African black female created and owned annual inspirational diary for women called Diary for Fabulous You. Pontsho is passionate about women empowerment, youth development and leadership and strated non-profit initiatives like Fabulous Girls Foundation and FabWoman Awards. “I realised that no awards exist that recognise the ethical values embodied in my campaign for women upliftment and empowerment, and women unity,” she explains and so she launched the Fabulous Woman Awards in 2013 to recognise and celebrate the foundational principles of ethical womanhood.

These were the first awards in South Africa to recognise both girls and women in an effort to engender the spirit of sisterhood and cross generational bonding for all women of South Africa. As accomplished business owner, author, speaker, image consultant and coach, Pontsho embodies what the Fabulous Women Awards stand for.
