Please tell us a little more about yourself and your journey so far.

In my personal capacity, I love reading, going to gym and travelling. I am a workaholic though. I am presently on ChaiFM for a weekly slot on Personal Branding. It has been such an incredible journey thus far both personally and professionally.

You are busy with so many interesting projects. Please tell us a little more about that.

About a year ago, I lauched the Discover Yourself programme for Woman which focuses on spiritual physical and financial wellness for woman. I am presently working on a TV show which will be an extension of my book.

What is it that you are passionate about?

Woman empowerment and the development of leadership within this country.

Who or What has been the biggest influence in your life and why?

My family and mentors as they have created and tried to create as many opportunities for me.

What is your personal “motto”?

Leave a legacy that you can be proud off and have a commitment to excellence.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Sometimes slow down and enjoy the moment.

Tell us a lttle more abour your book, "I Inc. Be the CEO of Your Brand". What was the inspiration behind it?

Throughout my professional career I have known that I would write a book. I decided to write this book on branding because I have been intrigued by the question of why some individuals are more successful than others both personally and professionally. For me success is not measured by material gain. It is a measure of how one can be the the “best” at whatever you do by ensuring a commitment to excellence and leaving a legacy that you can one day be proud of.

My thinking has been influenced by author and motivational speaker, Robin Sharma who in one of his many books titled “The Leader who had no Title,” explores this very basic principle on being the best at whatever it is you do irrespective of your title. After extensive research into the most successful and unsuccessful people in the world and reflections from my personal corporate experience, I have realised that there are certain common traits amongst the successful individuals. I Inc. Be the CEO of your Brand certainly explores the dimensions of developing and maintaining a successful brand both personally and professionally. I have always asked myself the question “why should only the likes of the Beckhams, Justin Bieber, Hugh Grant and other famous people have a personal brand and not “me?”.

What are the top 3 things women in business need to be aware of when branding their business?

  • Learn to be comforable marketing yourself. Selling yourself with confidence, without arrogance is a key part of your personal brand-building strategy. You don't want to be the world's best kept secret....
  • Strive to portray yourself in the best possible way at all times: One of my favorite quotes is by Coco Chanel, who said ”Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman.”
  • Identify your strengths, the things you’re good at and the things you’re passionate about.

Your favourite daily affirmation?

Be grateful for everything!

Your favourite quote:

One of my favorite quotes is by Coco Chanel, who said ”Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman.”

Which book are you reading now?

“How to have a beautiful mind” by Edward de Bono

Which book can you read over and over again?

My Book.

One piece of (general) advice that you’d like to share…

Hard work always pays off and NOTHING is impossible.

Is there anything that Xtraordinary Women can do to help you on your journey?

I would love to share and help woman within your network.
